June 23, 2013 – Official Launch Date of Project Lifesaver PEI

We are excited to announce Project Lifesaver PEI will be officially launched on Sunday, June 23, 2013 with an Open House/Family Fun Day at the new PEI Ground Search & Rescue base at 195 Maple Hills Avenue, Charlottetown, PEI from 12-4.

This free event will be fun for the whole family! Take part in hands on activities throughout the afternoon at drop-in stations and during scheduled activities.

  • Check out techniques for shelter building
  • Try your hand at learning to use a compass
  • Use a map to solve a scavenger hunt puzzle
  • Test your memory to learn the ten things you need to bring with you in the woods
  • Visit the RCMP Police Dog
  • Try the radio in the search and rescue trailer
  • Tour the trailers to see how a search is planned
  • Watch a demonstration of Project Lifesaver
  • Learn more about the AdventureSmart programs offered by the team
  • And more!

Visit all the stations and return your “passport” to the raffle table to get a small prize!

A cash BBQ will be available to raise funds to support your local Ground Search & Rescue Team.
